It's the Summer term!
Welcome back to the final term of the year. This term's topic name is "All Creatures Great and Small". Can you guess what sorts of things you might be learning about this term?

Welcome back to the Spring Term!
It has been another strange year, but despite everything, your children have returned to school ready and eager to continue their learning. We have eased them back into the school routine, and we are enjoying finishing the topic 'Tales, Towers and Time Gone By'. They have really enjoyed learning about the Normans, castles, William the Conqueror and the Modern Royal family. With just a few more weeks until the Easter holidays, your children will be learning about fossils, what castles were made out of and why, as well as plenty of PHSE lessons for their well-being.

Could there be a better end to the term?
As we were unable to perform one of our amazing shows this year, we decided to learn and practise some songs instead!
The whole of team Year 2 and 3 got together (socially distanced of course) and sang some of our favourite tunes in the courtyard.
Have a watch and you might even be able to join in!
Welcome back to the Autumn Term!
We hope you've had a restful Summer break, and are ready to return to a slightly adapted way of school life.
We are looking forward to an exciting new term, filled with fun, exploration, experiences with a little bit of learning too.
Who has a real Hot air balloon on their school field?
The children finally were able to experience the second part of their topic suprise for "Up, Up and Away". Even through a global pandemic, we were still able to provide an exciting hands on experience that Ashmead is well known for. Each and every child looked on in amazement as the balloon inflated on their school field. Not only did this provide a treat for all during a strange and difficult time, it also provided them with valuable information to support their writing. A huge thank you to the team for enabling this experience happen.
Here are some photos from the day.
