Ashmead admits up to 90 children into the Foundation Stage in the September following their fourth birthday. Many of these children have previously attended our Nursery that also has place for 90 children. Children can start at the Nursery in the term after their 3rd birthday; there are a small number of places also available for 2 year olds. Please see the separate prospectus for more details of our Nursery provision. Copies of our School Admissions Policy and Nursery Admissions Policy can be found under the separate heading of 'Policies' on this website.

Once the Local Authority has notified parents that a place at the school has been awarded and it has been accepted; parents and children are invited to an introductory meeting with the Head Teachers and staff in the Early Year’s department. This meeting takes place in the term preceding entry and is an important opportunity to make introductions, share further information and spend some time in the department. We want to work closely with families throughout their time with us to ensure children are happy and appropriately cared for; this first meeting is an important milestone in that journey.

Prior to starting you will be asked to complete a registration pack, which provides us with important information about your child.  During the school, day the Head Teacher has legal responsibility for your child and it is essential that the school be informed of any change of details, medical conditions or circumstances that could potentially impact your child.
