We were fact finders!
We have enjoyed looking at information texts to find interesting facts about Spectacled Bears. We found out that Paddington is a Spectacled bear!
Did you know, these bears are known as Spectacled bears due to their unique markings on their faces, making them look like they are wearing glasses?
We used a range of sources to gather information and we enjoyed using generalisers to open our sentences whilst using noun phrases learned in previous weeks.
As we enjoyed these lessons so much, we decided to research another type of bear: a Polar bear.
We were amazed by some of the facts that we found out. For example, Polar bear's fur is not actually white! Strangely, their fur is clear and translucent.
Amazingly, when a polar bear is stood up, it measures up to 10 foot...nearly the height of 2 adults standing on top of each other.
