Ashmead School

Ashmead provides its children with two everlasting things, one is roots, the other wings.

Week 2 - Let it Grow

An altered fairytale

Early on this week, we received another letter from 'J'. They told us all about a book that was a alternative version of a classic fairytale that they might have read before: Jack and the Beanstalk.

This immediately gave us more clues to who 'J' was - Was it Jack?

The book that 'J' gave us was entitled, "Jack and the Jellybean Stalk". Eager to find out about it, we read the story together and acted out the key parts.

We loved this story so much, that we retold the story using lots of interesting adjectives, past tense verbs, adverbs and speech!

In Science, we have been busy planting a huge variety of flowers, vegetables and spices! Each child has been looking after their own bean plant, ensuring that their bean has plenty of light, warmth and water - all things we have learned are very important to plants!
