Ashmead School

Ashmead provides its children with two everlasting things, one is roots, the other wings.

Week 4 & 5 - Pointilism

Art

We have been learning about Aboriginal dot painting. Can you remember what the Aboriginal people used for their 'paints'? We even tried using symbols to tell a story just like they used to do.

We also learned that modern day Aboriginal painting uses dots, Pointilism. We tried used different objects to dot with including corks, cotton buds and straws. We even used the ends of our paintbrushes!

We have created some beautiful dot paintings of the lighthouse and the cliff from our topic book, The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch.
