Autumn: Fantastic Beasts

Autumn 1: Newsletter

We have had a great start to the year in Year 5&6. We have delved into the world of the Ancient Greeks, learning about all of their lives and culture; we have begun our journey into the world of science classification; and we have been building our painting skills ready for our Landscape project after the half term. This is all before we even start talking about our amazing trip to the Warner Brothers Studios and our own magnificent creatures that we have been creating and writing about in English. We really have had a fantastic start to the term and we have so much more to come in what is a beast of a half term that is on the way.

Autumn 2: Newsletter

This has been a Fantastic, Beast of a term for our Year 6’s. We have delved into the Land of Never Believe, submerged ourselves in the world of Harry Potter and conquered the Empire of the Ancient Greeks. Along our journey, we have discovered where democracy first started and even discovered that the Olympics looked very different 2,400 year ago. We were lucky enough to have spent a day learning about Kidditch, a ‘muggle’ version of quidditch, and even developed our own Healthy Lifestyle adds.

All our fun has not been for nothing as we were able to use our knowledge to create some fantastic writing based on Myths, our own creatures and the world of magic.
