• A special delivery made to Buckingham Palace

  In light of the sad news received on Thursday evening, Ashmead pupils chose to spend some time on Friday designing a card or message for the Royal Family.

   

  On Friday evening, Mrs Thompson made a special delivery to the gates of Buckingham Palace to deliver all of these. Although there were a wealth of flowers already there, we were the first to bulk deliver messages from a school (near enough 500 cards or messages). Therefore, we were allowed through a barrier, to the front of the Palace, where we we met with a huge round of applause from the crowd!

   

  It was a very emotional visit but one of significant importance. A wonderful, courteous and kind Queen; she demonstrated exemplary dedication and was dutiful to the very end. 

   

  Sometimes, young children know just the right words to use at such a difficult time.
